The 10x Engineer

Set goals that stick, protect your focus, and do the work that actually moves things.

Self-paced video courseAll levels5 modules16 lessons

What you'll learn

  • Turn a vague ambition into a goal you can measure, using personal OKRs
  • Tell output from impact, and choose the work worth doing
  • Build habits that survive busy weeks, the way 5km a day became four marathons
  • Protect deep focus in a world of meetings, pings and context switches
  • Find leverage: the tools and systems that make a whole team faster
  • Review your progress honestly, and adjust without starting over

Who it's for

Engineers who are already shipping and want what comes next. If you're closing tickets but not sure you're making a difference, or you set goals in January and forget them by March, this is for you. Plenty of it works outside engineering too.

Curriculum

  1. 01

    Goals that actually stick

    • Why OKRs didn't make sense to me at first
    • Setting a well-defined goal
    • Objectives and key results you can measure
    • Running as a test case: from 5km a day to 1,022km in a year
  2. 02

Output is expected, impact is the differentiator

    • The lesson I learned at Amazon
    • Deciding which work is worth doing
    • Making your impact visible without the self-promotion
  3. 03

    Habits and consistency

    • Small, repeatable, built into the day
    • What to do when you fall off
    • Training for a marathon while doing your day job
  4. 04

    Focus and prioritisation

    • Protecting deep work
    • Saying no, kindly
    • Weekly planning that takes 20 minutes
  5. 05

    Leverage: becoming a 10x engineer

    • What "10x" really means: multiplying the people around you
    • Finding the friction points in your team's system
    • Case study: building Chiku, an AI merge request reviewer

About me

I'm Kuziwa. I taught myself to code, worked at Amazon, and these days build software in Johannesburg. Everything in this course is something I've tried on myself first, from the OKRs I wrote about for OfferZen to the running habit that turned into marathons.
